The NRL is back, which finally means we can talk a bit of action on the field, which is nice, and while his Melbourne Storm start with a win, they do it wihout Cameron Smith, who annoucned his retirement.

We talk about his departure, plus the end of the career of Sonny Bill Williams, as well as a key move in the Women’s Super League as coach Lindsay Anfield leaves Castleford on the eve of the new season.

There’s upset over games which are, and aren’t, on the OuRLeague app, as pre-season friendlies will be replaced with some, but not all, Super League games, but, unlike the Championship, they won’t be available to all.

Our special guest this week is the man who was in the middle of the Challenge Cup Final in 2020, referee Liam Moore who talks about his preperations for the new season, dealing with abuse, the speed of the game post-restart, and much more, including his advice for those wanting to pick up the whistle/flag.

Another great guest, and, as a bonus, we’ve got Testimonial Tiger Adam Milner and Sheffield Eagles Mark Aston, Matt James and Anthony Thackeray as the 2021 season approaches…
