For our latest Red Robin HeritageCast we are delighted to be joined by a player who only recently departed the club for pastures new.
George Lawler was a firm fans favourite with him exceling at either prop, loose forward or hooker during his time with the Robins. The 25 year olds departure was a shock to many fans with the club offering him a much improved long term contract which included a testimonial. It was the lure of a new challenge though which played the biggest factor in him deciding to leave a club which he had served for the past six years.
Despite his departure to Lee Radford’s Castleford Tigers George will always be remembered for his whole hearted displays whilst wearing the famous red and white of Hull Kingston Rovers.
In this HeritageCast we discuss coming through the amateur ranks, making his Rovers debut, his England aspirations and much much more.
